Of all the animals tamed by man, the most faithful creature is a dog. Skeptics claim that the owners themselves attribute to the pets qualities that their four-legged friends do not possess at all.
But the fact remains: the world knows thousands of real stories of the manifestation of indestructible love. Their heroes were representatives of the most devoted dog breeds.
Fifth place: Rottweiler
Large black and tan dogs come from Germany with a powerful body 56–68 cm high and 42–50 kg in weight. They are known for independence, decisiveness and quick wits. Owners of tremendous strength and fearless nature, they are successfully used in guard duty. At the slightest threat, mighty dogs show aggression and strong jaws. Therefore, the main thing you need to pay attention to is skillful training, separation of prerogatives and early socialization of the puppy.
Serious and suspicious of strangers, representatives of the breed give their all-consuming love to their owners. They immediately rush to the rescue of the owners who refused in trouble. That is what Yves did - the Rottweiler of the paralyzed American Katie Vaughan. The car in which the woman and her four-legged friend were in, suddenly stopped, and smoke fell from under the hood. Immobilized and unconscious, Katie managed to open the door to let the animal out. But Eve did not run away. Her strength was enough to pull the mistress out of the cab and take her to a safe place.
Fourth place: Border Collie
Two-color furry creatures, whose height at the withers does not exceed 55 cm, still in the 16th century helped English shepherds guide herds of sheep along winding paths. The endurance, energy and industriousness of the Border Collie carried through the centuries - today they traditionally take first place in agility competitions. Cynologists rightly consider representatives of the breed included in the rating of the most faithful dogs to be the smartest dogs on the planet. Intelligent animals memorize up to 200 teams and can add numbers (up to 5).
How air these dogs need is human attention. Left alone, cheerful dogs fall into anguish. Faithful companions, they accompany the hosts everywhere, looking at them with undisguised adoration. An example of indestructible devotion was shown by Rusvarp, the dog of mountaineer Graham Nuttall. In 1990, the man and the dog did not return from a walk in the mountains of Wales. Graham's body was found after 11 weeks. Nearby was a half-dead dog, not one step away from the dead owner. The four-legged friend was present at the host's funeral and died shortly after them.
Third Place: Labrador Retriever
Intellectual, hard worker, active companion, baby nanny and faithful companion. All this is about a Labrador, who has long occupied the podium of man’s most beloved and devoted friends. There are several versions of the origin of the breed. According to the most reliable of them, the world owes the appearance of noble dogs to the Englishman Peter Hawker, who in the 19th century crossed Foxhound, a setter and a curly retriever with dogs of fishermen of Newfoundland Island.
Modern labradors are proportionally folded animals, the height at the withers of which reaches 61 cm, and the body weight is 40 kg. They are distinguished by high efficiency, friendliness and lack of aggression.
An example of absolute dog affection was demonstrated by Labrador Rosella during the notorious events that took place in the United States on September 11, 2001. The owner of the dog, blind Michael Hingson, worked on the 78th floor of one of the twin towers. When the fire started, the owner unfastened the leash from the collar of his pet and ordered the dog to run. But Rosella thought differently. She grabbed a blind friend by the clothes and helped her down and leave the building.
Second Place: Akita Inu
The oldest dogs, the existence of which is known from the II millennium BC. e., got its name thanks to the Japanese province of Akita - the place where the breed comes from. Stately handsome men 61–67 cm high at the withers possess a restrained balanced character and developed intelligence. Inquisitive and playful in puppyhood, adult dogs turn into real sages who know how to control their emotions. The only drawback that the owner of the four-legged aristocrat may face is the rare stubbornness of the animal.
A film about the dog Hachiko brought world fame to the breed. This touching story is not a figment of the scriptwriter's imagination - it is based on real events. In 1923, Professor Hidesaburo Ueno received a puppy as a gift. The growing dog accompanied the owner everywhere. So it was on a fateful day when a heart attack interrupted Hideasaburo's life. For the long nine years, Hachiko persistently returned to the station every morning in the hope of seeing his loved one again. The body of a dog who died of old age was discovered in March 1935. A faithful friend met his demise at the platform on which he had once met the owner.
The most dedicated dog breed in the world
German Shepherd - the most faithful breed of dog in the world. Her story began in 1899. Max von Stefanitz, a retired army captain, acquired Horand von Grafrath, a male dog whose ancestors were ancient German shepherd dogs. The breeder’s goal was to create a universal dog that combines stamina, obedience, intelligence and fidelity. Roland, a descendant of Horand, became the ancestor of the most popular German shepherd today.
Muscular animals 56–66 cm high at the withers possess natural poise, activity, susceptibility to training and distrust of strangers. The desire to serve the master and the mind are associated with fearlessness and the desire to benefit.
An example of unshakable fidelity and love is the Captain Shepherd. In 2012, Argentine newspapers told about a dog that remained loyal to the owner even after his death. For ten years the dog was guarded by the eternal dream of its master - Miguel Guzman. How the animal found the burial place remains a mystery - the cemetery was in another city. The captain died at the age of 15, releasing his last breath at Miguel’s grave.
According to dog handlers, the Rottweiler, Border Collie, Labrador, Akita Inu and German Shepherd have a heightened sense of affection. Therefore, acquiring a puppy of one of these breeds, the future owner can be sure: his pet, who grew up in an atmosphere of understanding and love, will remain faithful to his master throughout his life.
